Here's what I think: Golden Globes Memorable Moments

The 70th annual Golden Globes was presented on NBC last night! This is my favorite award show, not only because it has both television and film representation but also because it seems like a really fun party. If I could plan any party in my lifetime, it would be the Golden Globes! I have a lot to say about the show last night so I've decided to split my blog posts in to shorter posts organized by theme. In this post, I'd like to talk about the top moments from the evening:

1. Tina Fey & Amy Poehler as hosts - these girls did a great job, very funny and not too over the top. The most offensive moment of the night was when Amy Poehler said "When it comes to torture, I trust the lady who spent three years married to James Cameron." about "Zero Dark Thirty" director Kathryn Bigelow, to a shocked audience but in comparison to Ricky Gervais in past years, that was nothing . Other memorable host moments included; each host dressing as fake nominees and referring to President Clinton as "Hilary Clinton's husband or Bill Rodham Clinton." Really funny night and neither of these ladies has ever looked better!

2. Funny acceptance speeches - this is one of the reasons that I like award shows so much. You get to see what stars are really like and more often than not, they are funny and relateable people who are just honored to be doing what they love. The best moments of the night included Adele's win for best original song because she was so genuinely surprised (although I don't think she should have been, Skyfall is an excellent song) and Jennifer Lawrence's "I beat Meryl" speach.

3. Jodi Foster's lifetime achievement - Robert Downy Jr. is always a fun choice for presenter, and I appreciated that he was very sweet and apologetic prior to digging in on her. Her speech on the other hand was a little odd. Kind of all over the place and seemed very much like a farewell to Hollywood speech, but it was touching and clearly resonated with the audience of her peers as they were all in tears by the end.

4. Will Ferrell and Kristen Wigg as presenters - pretty much just hilarious, I can't even describe how wonderful this was, I was almost in tears over how funny it was... here just watch it for yourself if you missed it:

5. Ben Afleck and Argo win- lovely moment, everyone was so excited for him as demonstrated by the standing ovation he received, and I just love how in love he and his wife are. Cute moment later when Jennifer presented and named a few people Ben forgot in his speach.

All in all, it was a great show full of wonderful, funny moments! And this doesn't even include all of the gorgeous fashion from the night. See my other Golden Globes posts to see what I thought of the red carpet looks of the night!
